Five Minute Friday ~ FOCUS

It's once again Five Minute Friday where a multitude of bloggers write for five minutes on one word. Today's word is FOCUS.


I love when a word, one word, brings a song to mind. When I read focus the voice in my head (yes, it's my own) immediately began singing, "Turn your eyes upon Jesus.....".

What am focused on? What are my eyes turned upon?

I think I need to examine on a regular basis' what I am focused on. For where my focus is that is where I'm spending my time and energy. If my focus isn't on Jesus than it's on myself. I don't want to be focused on me.

I want my eyes to be on Jesus. I want to focus my goals, dreams and desires on things that may glorify Him.



Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.

Family vacations are expensive. Gas, lodging, meals...oh, and then there is the admission cost to all the cool things that you want to see. Vacations cost more than a small fortune. Now figure in the loss of income (some of us don't get paid vacations) and you've "broke the bank". Enter the stay-cation. Gas costs are reduced. Lodging is covered. Meals, although still necessary, can be made at home and packed in a cooler. This summer, instead of taking a week off, I am taking a couple long weekends. One weekend we will be traveling "Up North" to visit my husband's college buddy. Thy Will be Done

Years ago....June 2012 to be exact..... while at the hospital bedside of my daughter , I cried "Heal her!" which was followed with as much conviction, "Thy will by done". And I meant it. The Holy Spirit equipped me to pray for God's will and not my own. How was it that I was able to so easily submit the future to his hands when I was facing my hardest days. Not by my power but by His. stripped bare

It's Friday which means it's time to dance and sing (the daycare kids and I have a song and dance to celebrate this glorious day).
